The collections showcases the roots and aspirations of the Chinese apparel brand.

Set amid the Hanjian Daxia Bay in Shishi, Quanzhou, CABBEEN unveiled its 26/27 Autumn/Winter collection in as much a celebration of place as it was of contemporary Chinese menswear. Held on September 20, 2026, as the opening event of Quanzhou Fashion Week (Autumn/Winter) 2026, “Winds Unbound” transformed the coastline into a runway, where 80 looks from “The New Code” were showcased.<o:p></o:p>
Designed around a striking dual-line runway, a white catwalk and CABBEEN’s signature yellow carpet traced intersecting curves along the tidal boundary. Inspired by the swallowtail ridges of traditional Minnan houses, Quanzhou stone-carving motifs and the smiling eyes of Shishi, the formation subtly echoed the brand’s mirrored double-C logo. “One side is home, the other is the world. What continues to connect the two is this sea,” explained founder and artistic director Yang Ziming, encapsulating CABBEEN’s dialogue between local heritage and an outward-looking creative vision.<o:p></o:p>

The collection charts a considered progression through contemporary Chinese menswear. It opens with black, charcoal grey and antique gold in a military-inspired series of leather, nylon, wool blends and woven fabrics, before moving into restrained lacquer red, Chinese knots and traditional knotting structures. Washed denim follows in faded indigo, glacier blue, and ink black, its textures evoking garments shaped by time. The mood then shifts towards understated urban luxury, with fine wool, soft knits, supple leather and precise needlework, creating elongated, relaxed silhouettes, before deconstructed tailoring meets traditional Chinese details in the final Streetwear series.<o:p></o:p>

With CABBEEN approaching its 30th anniversary in 2027, the return to its southern Fujian roots feels especially resonant. “The farther you go, the more you know where you came from,” says Yang Ziming. As the show closed, he sprinted down the 100-metre runway and sang The World’s Number One – an interpretation of the song created by Malaysian arranger Mac Chew with mixing and mastering by Matt Sim and production by Pang Hai Tong. The arrangement introduces bamboo flute to its guitar-and-drum foundation, carrying the sound of Fujian into a new generation – a fitting finale to a collection that celebrates its roots and aspirations.<o:p></o:p>
