Dubbed “Vacanze Siciliane” (Sicilian Holidays), Dolce &amp; Gabbana’s Spring 2027 collection offered the ultimate escape for fashion week guests seeking refuge from the sweltering June heat in Milan. Behind the catwalk, a massive screen beamed cinematic loops of Taormina and Isola Bella, tracing the coastline from the soft glow of dawn to brilliant high noon, practically beckoning the audience to dive into its crystal-clear waters.

For Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Sicily is infinitely more than a postcard-perfect vacation spot. Over the decades, the duo has consistently peeled back the island's complex historical layers, a land uniquely forged by waves of conquerors, including the Greeks, Romans, Normans, Arabs, Spanish, and Bourbons. This season, the designers paid tribute not just to their brand's own legacy, but to the island’s rich traditions and artisanal crafts, filtering history through their signature high-fashion lens. The collection’s colour story felt like a direct translation of the Sicilian landscape. The show opened with a dramatic sequence of total-black looks reminiscent of Stromboli’s volcanic beaches, before quickly shifting into vibrant pistachio hues, a nod to the island's famous "green gold” alongside sun-bleached sand, crisp limestone, and deep Mediterranean blues. This natural bounty was woven throughout the collection, with graphic t-shirts sporting vibrant prints of local oranges and lemons, while others featured intricate reproductions of historic Byzantine mosaics and majestic coastal sea stacks.

The true heart of the collection lay in the exquisite execution of textures and relaxed tailoring. The house's artisanal craftsmanship shone through in breezy crochet polo shirts and impeccably woven suede jackets. Structurally, the vibe was effortlessly laid-back, think tailored linen blazers and lightweight cotton trousers but elevated with a flash of personality via sparkling statement brooches.
