We talk to Dr Aren Yong about why aesthetic treatments are now front and centre in the modern men&rsquo;s grooming routine.

The aesthetic landscape has undergone a significant paradigm shift, particularly in the past decade. From your experience, what are the most common aesthetic treatments among men today, and what concerns do they usually address? The most requested procedures among male patients typically target structural enhancement and signs of ageing. Neuromodulators such as botulinum toxin type A are &nbsp;commonly used to treat dynamic wrinkles, particularly glabellar lines and periorbital wrinkles. Dermal fillers are frequently employed for chin augmentation, mandibular definition and tear trough correction, aiming to restore volume and enhance the masculine contour. In addition, bio-regenerative treatments such as polynucleotides (PN), polyribonucleotides (PRN), and hybrid HA complexes are gaining traction for improving skin laxity, hydration and overall dermal quality without altering facial anatomy.

Some guys worry about looking &ldquo;too done&rdquo; or unnatural. How do you approach male features differently in aesthetic treatments? Male facial anatomy differs significantly from female anatomy in terms of skeletal structure, fat distribution and skin thickness. Men typically have a more prominent supraorbital ridge, <a href="https://www.hommesmalaysia.com/grooming/review-pico-laser-treatment-at-phi-clinic-bangsar">flatter cheeks and a broader jawline</a>. Aesthetically, the goal is to maintain these defining characteristics. My approach is guided by a combination of facial assessment tools and anatomical landmarks, ensuring treatments respect the male aesthetic ideal. How long do the effects of these treatments last, and what kind of downtime should guys expect Duration varies depending on the modality and product used. Botulinum toxin typically lasts between 3 and 4 months, while hyaluronic acid fillers can persist for 9 to 18 months, depending on the cross-linking technology and the area treated. Downtime is generally minimal. Most patients may experience transient skin redness, mild swelling, or mild ecchymosis post-procedure, resolving within 24 to 72 hours.

What&rsquo;s your advice to a man who&rsquo;s curious but hesitant to take the first step? The first step is always education.
