Three new creations reimagine the beloved single malt, enjoyed against a fabulous skyline.

There is more than one way to enjoy a good whisky. At Kindan KL, a curated experience with The Macallan offered a spirited reminder that single malt whisky can be as much at home in a cocktail glass as it is served neat. The setting lends itself to the occasion. Combining modern Japanese dining and bar culture, Kindan KL is located on the 42nd floor of Mercu Aspire in KL Eco City, which makes it an inviting address for after-work drinks or a Friday-night gathering against a stunning cityscape.
Here, The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old took on three distinct personalities across the cocktail menu. The Fizz Party opened on a lively note, combining the whisky with sugarcane syrup, lime juice and homemade grapefruit soda. Citrus brightness and a pleasantly bitter finish kept the drink refreshing, with just enough sweetness to round things out.
The Kindan Mule took on a more robust direction. Homemade ginger beer, gula melaka, mint, lime and Angostura bitters brought together warming spice, herbal freshness and caramel-like sweetness, with soda water adding lift. Finally, the Old Fashioned paired the Double Cask 12 Years Old with gula melaka and orange bitters, allowing the whisky’s depth to take centre stage.

The cocktails were accompanied by a selection of dishes offering a progression from casual bites to something more substantial, suited to grazing between conversations and discovering how different flavours play against the character of the whisky.
For those who prefer to linger over a dram, the bottle list spans The Macallan’s Double Cask expressions in 12, 15 and 18-year-old variants, alongside the Sherry Oak 12 and 15-year-old bottlings.
As the evening progressed, The Macellan’s versatility through Kindan’s inventive cocktails, good food and a glittering skyline, was more than apparent. Experience it for yourself this October.
