Following the conclusion of his B.I 2023 Asia Tour, B.I wastes no time in releasing his second studio album, titled TO DIE FOR.

Kim Han-bin, well known by his stage moniker B.I, showed talent at a young age. He was spotted and recruited for a role in MC Mong&rsquo;s 2009 smash track Indian Boy. He was only 13 years old at the time. Before his debut, he had amassed an impressive catalogue of songwriting credits and performances in reality shows such as WIN: Who Is Next, Show Me The Money 3, and Mix &amp; Match, all of which attested to his ability to maintain a high level of personal discipline and focus on the task at hand.
Over the years, B.I has evolved into a multi-faceted musician. He has perfected not only the arts of dancing, rapping, and singing, but also the craft of creatively weaving thoughts into explosive tunes. As he makes the shift from being the leader of the idol group iKON to now focusing on his solo career, B.I has shown that he is not afraid to be upfront and honest with his fans. B.I is an artist who is known for being authentic and personable, and he eagerly wants to show them that he&rsquo;s a real force to be reckoned with with his new album TO DIE FOR.

How is TO DIE FOR different from your previous album WATERFALL? How does the title reflect the themes and messages in your music?
One key distinction of this album from WATERFALL is its departure from exploring feelings of sadness. Instead, it&rsquo;s more experimental this time, integrating elements of both softness and roughness. I believe youth is a time when you can willingly give everything for love, and that sentiment inspired the album&rsquo;s name, TO DIE FOR.

Can you tell the concept behind the album?
This album explores what may be the most passionate and intense period of our lives &mdash; youth &mdash; and its two defining spirits, which are rebellion and love.

It features collaborations with several artists, including Jessi and BIG Naughty. How did you choose these collaborators, and what did they bring to the creative process?
I have always admired each one of them and I felt their voices would greatly enhance the overall album. And it turns out I was right about that. The songs have flourished and become incredibly solid thanks to their work.

If you must pick, which would you choose as your favourite songs from the album?
The two title tracks stand as my top favourites. They serve as the backbone that holds the entire album together.

TO DIE FOR includes a mix of genres, from hip-hop to R&amp;B to rock. How did you approach blending these different styles, and what do you hope listeners take away from this eclectic mix?
Genre does not carry much significance for me anymore. I&rsquo;ve come to realise it&rsquo;s just a means and method of telling a story. It&rsquo;s my hope to interpret and deliver stories to our listeners through various genres.

Many of the songs on your albums touch on personal struggles and emotions. How did you navigate the process of opening up about these experiences through your music?
I tend to jot down my thoughts as if I&rsquo;m writing in my journal. Even just a small sense of empathy and connection from my fans would give me great satisfaction.

What is a normal day like for B.I?
When I&rsquo;m at home, I like to read and play basketball with friends.
&nbsp;
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspirations from my experiences, films and books.

You&rsquo;re most happy when...
I&rsquo;m not sure at this time. I get a lot of joy from spending time with my fans, but that&rsquo;s not something I can do all the time, so I typically try to find other ways to be happy. I&rsquo;m honestly still trying to figure it out.

If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
If it were possible, Mozart. I don&rsquo;t necessarily expect a collaboration, but I would just love to observe him work from the sidelines. He was considered groundbreaking at the time and is still greatly admired. I&rsquo;d love to peek at his creative process.

As an artist, what do you think is the most important message you want to convey to your fans?
I cannot yet pinpoint one exact message, but I know for a fact that music carries significant power. In one way or another, I wish to provide solace to the listeners.
