From fashion instincts to family values, Jane Chuck and Han Pin show what staying true feels like in motion.

Jane Chuck and Han Pin are comfortable expressing themselves. For them, it feels more like instinct than effort, something that comes innately when they stop overthinking things. &ldquo;Not overthinking and simply letting our creativity take over,&rdquo; Jane Chuck says. That whim affects how they communicate, how they dress, and how they manoeuvre through the world together. Believe it or not, astrology is one of the few languages they have in common. Jane Chuck is well aware of her Virgo qualities. &ldquo;My Virgo sign keeps me grounded,&rdquo; she says, laughing. &ldquo;Everything I do screams &lsquo;Virgo&rsquo;, and I hear that from people around me constantly.&rdquo; She&rsquo;s cognisant of the fact that Virgos often read as distant. &ldquo;Virgos can sometimes seem cold or detached, but actually, they care a lot about the people they love.&rdquo;

Ma, on the other hand, connects with his Libra side in a manner that is more low-key. &ldquo;I identify with the effortless nature of a Libra; I naturally appreciate things that look good and feel good,&rdquo; he shares. Additionally, he admits that he tries to reframe the traditional Libra hesitancy. &ldquo;Sometimes that hesitancy is just to avoid conflict,&rdquo; he says. Balancing his time between himself, his family and his responsibilities is where he feels his sign the most. &ldquo;I always need to find the right balance when dedicating time for myself, my family and my work.&rdquo;

Their style is also moulded by their personalities. Jane Chuck&rsquo;s approach is consistent and deliberate. &ldquo;My inner Virgo doesn&rsquo;t like doing things just to impress people. I am who I am, and I try to keep that energy consistent in my style.&rdquo; And for Han Pin, the rule is straightforward. &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t like to try too hard; my style tends to be understated, nothing too loud.&rdquo; They laugh as they recall their early style eras: Jane Chuck&rsquo;s obsession with Japanese fashion, which inspired her first blog, and Han Pin&rsquo;s undergraduate phase, which included &mdash; yes, plenty of polo tees. Even with a crowd, they maintain a sense of reality. &ldquo;People truly appreciate authenticity, and that allows us to be free in our creativity,&rdquo; Jane Chuck says, and Ma shares the same sentiment: &ldquo;I never let public expectations box me in; I focus on what feels right to me.&rdquo; Over time, they&rsquo;ve grown toward investing in pieces that last instead of blindly following trends.

Their dynamic is evident even in something as simple as driving. Jane Chuck laughs when asked who the better driver is. &ldquo;Han Pin is the better driver,&rdquo; she concedes, citing his composure and patience. Their ideal car trip is a seaside route with a decent playlist and a simple routine they can easily fall into, which usually entails Jane Chuck planning the route while Ma takes the wheel.

What anchors them as a power couple is mutual respect. &ldquo;We let each other express ourselves primarily by understanding each other deeply,&rdquo; he says. &ldquo;There&rsquo;s no ego in the relationship, which means that anything can be put on the table for discussion. Becoming parents has made us much more intentional with our words and emotions.&rdquo; Moreover, their house now feels more tolerant and responsive to the nuances that come with raising their son, August.

They want him to grow up with three traits: kindness, good intentions and curiosity. Everything else will happen as it should. And if he ever asks how to be true to himself, they already have the answer. &ldquo;Do not shrink to fit in. Surround yourself with people who have true good intentions.&rdquo; Looking ahead, Jane Chuck and Han Pin feel like they&rsquo;re on the verge of more personal changes. Lau is curious about how parenting will continue to mould her. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m excited for the journey of guiding August,&rdquo; she says. Han Pin candidly shares that he feels the same way. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m excited to see the kind of person I'll grow into as a dad.&rdquo; They&rsquo;re gathering the small moments that make up a family: slow mornings, long drives, unexpected discoveries, and all the detours they&rsquo;ve yet to encounter.
