Taking the spotlight as the inaugural show of Paris Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter 2024 season, Pharrell transported audiences to the Fondation Louis Vuitton for his third showcase with the iconic fashion house. Building anticipation, Pharrell gave a sneak peek on Instagram, teasing the runway with billboards sporting Western-style typography reminiscent of Tarantino film credits rather than the usual luxury fashion Maison announcements.
Pharrell delved into the roots of the American Western wardrobe, bringing Country and Western motifs to the Louis Vuitton runway. Embracing the brand's travel-centric ethos, workwear origins took the spotlight and transformed into Louis Vuitton savoir-faire through craftsmanship and embroidery techniques. The collection paid homage to American Western dress with key iconography, amplifying denim, blanket coats, Buffalo Check, and chaps rooted in the cowboy aesthetic. Louis Vuitton's style evolved with the American Western dandy, showcasing cowboy shirts and workwear silhouettes adorned with beading and ornamentation.

The collection introduced the revival of the pixelated Damier print, this time swapping camouflage for bold cow print. Pharrell's creative touch extended to the new range of speedy bags, crafted from cowhide, emerging as a standout accessory in his Louis Vuitton tenure. Western-inspired tassels made a statement on both tailored outerwear and streetwear-infused bomber jackets, exploring the roots of workwear.
The accessory game was strong, featuring metal collar clips, leather whips adorning trousers, bolo ties, bow-fastened leather jackets, and Western-style buckles gracing cowboy hats. Louis Vuitton's rich travel heritage took centre stage with the appearance of trunks on the runway, carted around on a wheelbarrow for Fall/Winter 2024&mdash;a nod to the agricultural roots of Virginia. Pharrell's knack for blending cultural influences and luxury aesthetics shone through in this captivating showcase.
